Microfilming Services
We were the first document management bureau to introduce microfilming to Ireland in the early 1960's and our committment to the industry is still with us. For over 50 years we have been responsible for the preservation and archive management of many of the Nation's leading newspaper titles and documents of interest. We have kept ourselves to the fore through our innovative approach and investment in technology. Despite recent developments in digitisation technology, microfilm is still considerd the international benchmark method of ensuring a documents long-term preservation with a life scan of 500 years!

Digitisation (Scanning of Microfilm) & O.C.R Services
We can scan all formats of microfilm into high quality images. Once the content has been digitised from microfilm or original hardcopy, we can render it fully word searcable through the World's leading OCR Technology "Olive" as used by Princeton Library, Yale, the Washington post and many more.
The content is then indexed and can be burned to DVD or even a web based delivery system such as used by the Irish Newspaper Archive website.

Over the list 50 years we have curated the largest microfilm archive of Irish material in the world. This includes international material such as the Scotsman and the Butte Independent from Montanna. We have the complete archives of the Irish Independent, Irish Times, Scotsman, Irish Examiner and many more available

Scanning Large Format Book Scanning & Microfilm Simultaneously
NML are the only bureau in Ireland to offer this hyrid approach. We can scan bound and unbound newspapers on purpose bulit large format book scanners.
The scanners have book cradles and low UV lighting to ensure no impact scanning. We are the only bureau in Ireland to offer digital output to microfilm. Thereby ensuring our clients the best of both world's. The accessability of word serachable and indexed digital files available on DVD or web based systems along with the long term preservation on microfilm.
